Chongqing Happy Valley is located at No. 29 Jinyu Avenue, Yubei District, Chongqing. It is a national 4A-level tourist attraction, covering an area of 480,000 square meters and built along the mountain terrain. It is the country’s first mountain?version Happy Valley. The park is divided into six themed zones: Happy Times, Dream Island, Hurricane Bay, Dinosaur Forest, Old Chongqing, and River Valley Mining Town. It features over 100 world?class amusement rides, including the world’s most advanced wing coaster, the world’s sixth?largest Ferris wheel, and the longest and largest wooden roller coaster in Southwest China.
History and Culture
In 2014, Happy Valley officially settled in Chongqing, building the Happy Valley theme park and the Maya Beach Water Park in the Lijia International Business & Tourism City of Liangjiang New Area. On March 18, 2016, the first pile was driven into the ground at the front square of Chongqing Happy Valley; on April 15 of the same year, the first pile for the theme park was laid; and on May 15, the first pile for the Maya Water Park was laid. On July 8, 2017, the “mountain version” of Happy Valley, tailor?made for Chongqing’s hilly landscape, officially opened. The Maya Beach Water Park covers 180,000 square meters and uses natural height differences to channel water into the mountain. It incorporates Maya cultural elements into modern water?ride experiences, recreating the lively water carnival scenes of the ancient Maya civilization. One of the trains on the wooden roller coaster is painted cyan, with a snake?shaped front end—snakes are sacred animals to the Ba?Yu people, and this design integrates local cultural characteristics into the ride.
