History and Culture
Hefei Sunac Land was formerly Hefei Wanda Land, which officially opened on 24 September 2016. It was a key cultural tourism project in Hefei, filling the gap for a large Huizhou?culture theme park in East China. In 2019, the Wanda cultural tourism division was acquired by Sunac Culture & Tourism Group, and the park was renamed Hefei Sunac Land. While retaining the original Huizhou?culture core, the park has continuously upgraded its rides, performances, and service systems, becoming a landmark cultural tourism destination in Hefei.
The park’s cultural essence is rooted in the thousand?year?old culture of Huizhou, drawing deeply from Huizhou merchant culture, Neo?Confucianism, Huizhou folk customs, and the landscapes of southern Anhui. Hui?style architectural craftsmanship, Huangmei opera, and Huizhou festival traditions are woven into the park’s design and performances. Through live shows, interactive experiences, and scene recreations, visitors can intuitively appreciate the unique charm of Huizhou culture, making the park an important vehicle for inheriting and spreading Huizhou cultural heritage.
Since its opening, Hefei Sunac Land has received multiple honours, including “Top Ten Tourist Attractions in Anhui Province” and “Hefei Cultural Tourism Demonstration Project”. It has welcomed over ten million visitors, not only driving the development of the cultural tourism industry in Hefei’s Baohe District but also becoming a well?known theme park destination in the Yangtze River Delta region, continuously promoting the integration and innovation of Huizhou culture with modern cultural tourism.
