Shuangfeng Mountain Scenic Area is located in Luquan District, Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province, in the western part of the provincial capital Shijiazhuang. The scenic area was first built in 1974 and covers an area of 210,000 square meters. It is a national 4A-level tourist attraction, a Hebei Provincial Patriotism Education Base, a Hebei Provincial National Defense Education Base, a provincial-level martyr memorial facility protection unit, and a Chinese Party History Education Base.
The scenic area consists of six major sections: the Martyrs Memorial Area, the Social Memorial Area, the Mountain Landscape Area, the Water Landscape Area, the Parking Lot Area, and the Office Area. With a vegetation coverage rate of 95%, it remains green throughout the four seasons. The clear and beautiful waters of Shuangfeng Lake are enchanting, the water fountain is magnificent, the northern and southern hills are lush and towering, memorial buildings are firmly embedded in the landscape, and pavilions and buildings are arranged in an orderly yet scattered manner, forming an elegant environment in which natural and cultural landscapes and traditional and modern cultures coexist harmoniously and are organically integrated.
Historical Culture
Shuangfeng Mountain Scenic Area in Shijiazhuang has a long history and profound cultural heritage. According to the records of Huolu County Annals, it is said that during the Hongjia period of Emperor Wu of Han, two phoenixes flew down and landed here, hence the name.
The Hebei Provincial Martyrs Memorial Park within the scenic area was first built in 1974. After more than 40 years of development and construction, it has become a large comprehensive memorial park in Hebei Province with an early start, large scale, beautiful environment, complete functions, high quality, and well-equipped memorial facilities. Buried here are the remains and ashes of nearly 30,000 people from all walks of life, including more than 100 provincial and military-level cadres, more than 1,100 prefecture-level and municipal-level cadres, more than 100 veteran comrades who began working before the War of Resistance Against Japan, more than 100 model workers at or above the prefecture and municipal level, and more than 300 experts and intellectuals with senior professional and technical titles in various fields.
Many revolutionary pioneers rest here in peace, such as Tian Han and An E, the lyricists of the National Anthem of the People's Republic of China; Wang Kexin, a close comrade-in-arms of Martyr Yang Jingyu and one of the founders of the Communist Party organization in Henan; Tao Xijin, the first secretary of the Shijiazhuang Municipal Party Committee, and his wife Zhu Lian; Sha Fei, the first person in Chinese revolutionary photography; and Wang Zhao, Fu Chongbi, and others who commanded the Battle of Liberating Shijiazhuang. Their deeds and spirit are inherited and carried forward here.

Hebei Provincial Martyrs Memorial Hall
A provincial-level comprehensive memorial hall approved by the Hebei Provincial Department of Civil Affairs and the Hebei Provincial Cultural Relics Bureau. Through pictures, texts, and cultural relics, the hall presents in detail the revolutionary history and heroic figures of Hebei since the Xinhai Revolution. It currently displays more than 2,800 photos of various revolutionary historical materials, more than 300 volumes of revolutionary historical books, more than 570 revolutionary historical relics, and more than 100,000 words of precious manuscripts of heroic figures.
National Anthem Square
The second National Anthem memorial square in the country and the only one in northern China, covering an area of 6,560 square meters. The granite National Anthem Memorial Wall is its essence and main body. The wall is 50 meters long and 3 meters high. Through deep and shallow reliefs and half-round sculptures, it reproduces the birth process of the National Anthem and the journey that inspired the Chinese nation to save the nation from subjugation and rise in resistance.
"The Republic Will Not Forget" Monument
It is one of the important memorial buildings in the scenic area, carrying the remembrance of and tribute to revolutionary martyrs and constantly reminding people to remember history and cherish today's peaceful life. Its design is solemn and dignified, containing profound red revolutionary culture.
Sha Fei Memorial Hall
The hall houses the Letina camera given to Sha Fei by Bethune, the wheels, saddle, and negative box used by the Jin-Cha-Ji Pictorial during the War of Resistance Against Japan, as well as seals used by Sha Fei, vividly displaying Sha Fei's outstanding contributions in the field of revolutionary photography.
Huang Qi Art Museum
The museum collects and displays many artistic works of Mr. Huang Qi. Mr. Huang Qi had profound attainments in calligraphy, painting, and other artistic fields. His works embody a unique artistic style and profound cultural connotations, providing visitors with an artistic feast.
Shuangfeng Lake
The lake water is clear and sparkling, mutually complementing the surrounding mountains and green trees, forming a beautiful natural picture. A viewing platform and leisure walking paths are set up by the lake, where visitors can enjoy the lake and mountain scenery and feel the tranquility and beauty of nature.

Shimen Gorge Grilled Fish
Made from fresh local fish through a unique marinating and grilling process. The fish skin is golden and crispy, and the fish meat is tender and juicy. Paired with various spices and vegetables, it is fragrant and delicious.
Shuangfeng Mountain Wild Mushrooms
Various wild mushrooms grow in the mountain forests around the scenic area, such as shiitake mushrooms, wood ear mushrooms, and hazel mushrooms. These wild mushrooms are rich in nutrients and delicious in taste. They can be used for stir-frying or stewing soup and have a rich mountain forest flavor.
Shuangfeng Mountain Red Dates
The red dates here are large and plump, red and glossy in color, and sweet in taste. They are rich in various vitamins and minerals. They can be eaten directly or used to make porridge, soup, or tea, and have high nutritional value.
