History and Culture
The counties of Linze and Sunan Yugur have a long history, with human activity dating back to ancient times, witnessing the integration and development of multiple ethnic groups. Historically, this area was an important passage along the Silk Road, where caravans, envoys, and monks frequently traveled, bringing diverse cultures and religions and enriching the local cultural heritage.
Although Qicai Danxia is a natural geological landscape, local legends have endowed it with mystical meanings, making it part of regional culture. Additionally, the scenic area has served as a filming location for several well-known movies, such as The Sun Also Rises, A Simple Noodle Story, and The Great Wall, further enhancing its cultural influence.
Major Attractions
Colorful Cloud Sea Terrace
A viewing platform with a broad panoramic view, overlooking the colorful Danxia landform. Under sunlight, the colors are vivid and layers distinct, resembling rolling clouds. It is the best spot to view "Divine Dragon Playing with Fire," where red Danxia formations resemble a dragon frolicking in flames.
Colorful Fairy Fate Terrace
Known for unique shapes and a romantic ambiance, the Danxia formations here take various forms—like lovers embracing or immortals pointing the way, evoking a dreamlike fairyland. Visitors can admire "Spirit Monkey Watching the Sea," where a "monkey" gazes into the distant sea of clouds, full of mystery.
Colorful Splendid Brocade Terrace
This spot showcases the brilliant colors and rich layers of Danxia, like a vast brocade scroll unfurled. The interlocking rock strata create unique textures and patterns. The "Monks Paying Homage to Buddha" scene is especially spectacular here, with numerous monk-shaped peaks arranged as if in devout worship.

The steep Danxia peaks on both sides of the gorge resemble crouching tigers, appearing majestic and perilous. Walking through the gorge allows visitors to closely appreciate the textures and formations of the Danxia and feel the power of nature.
Colorful Aohe Terrace
Here, river water flows among the Danxia hills, complementing the colorful terrain and forming a picturesque landscape of mountains and water. Visitors can enjoy the tranquility and harmony of nature.
