The Foreign Language Proficiency Examination aims to strengthen the macro-control and standardized management of the award of master's degrees to individuals with equivalent academic qualifications by the state, and is an important of the national examination for assessing the foreign language proficiency of individuals applying for master's degrees with equivalent academic qualifications. In 1998, we organized relevant experts to compile and publish the "National Unified Examination Syllabus for English Proficiency of Individuals with Equivalent Academic Qualifications for Applying for Master's Degrees." Based on the experience of the pilot program, we organized experts to revise it twice in 1999 and 2003, and the third edition was issued in 2003. Over the past two years, based on the suggestions of a large number of candidates and relevant experts, we organized experts from relevant aspects to revise this book for the third time. The revised syllabus (fourth edition) will serve as the basis for the unified examination questions for the English proficiency examination of individuals with equivalent academic qualifications for master's degrees in the coming years, as a reference for universities and colleges in related teaching and tutoring, and can also be used as a reference material for candidates to review and prepare for the exam.
