The Foreign Language Proficiency Examination aims to strengthen the macro-control and standardized management of the award of master's degrees to individuals with equivalent academic qualifications, and is an important part of the national organization's assessment of the foreign language proficiency of individuals with equivalent academic qualifications applying for master's degrees. In 1998, we organized relevant experts to compile and publish the "National Unified Examination Syllabus for Japanese Proficiency of Individuals with Equivalent Academic Qualifications Applying for Master's Degrees." Based on the summary of experience, we organized relevant experts to revise it three times successively in 1999, 2001, and 2003, with the fourth edition issued in 2003. In the past two years, based on the suggestions of a large number of candidates and relevant experts, and on the summary of the unified examination experience, we organized experts from relevant aspects to revise this book for the fourth time. The revised new syllabus (fifth edition) will serve as the basis for the unified examination questions for the Japanese proficiency examination of individuals with equivalent academic qualifications applying for master's degrees in the coming years, as a reference for universities and colleges in related teaching and tutoring, and can also be used as a reference material for candidates to review and prepare for the exam.
