Features: To implement the "Law of the People's Republic of China on the Prevention and Control of Environmental Pollution by Solid Wastes," prevent environmental pollution caused by the storage of hazardous wastes, and strengthen the supervision and management of hazardous waste storage, this standard has been formulated. This standard specifies general requirements for hazardous waste storage, including requirements for hazardous waste packaging, site selection, design, operation, safety protection, monitoring, and closure of storage facilities. This standard is the first issuance. Appendix A of this standard is a mandatory appendix, and Appendix B is a supplementary appendix. This standard was proposed by the Science and Technology Standards Department of the State Environmental Protection Administration. The Shenyang Institute of Environmental Science was responsible for drafting this standard. The State Environmental Protection Administration approved this standard on November 26, 2001. The State Environmental Protection Administration is responsible for interpreting this standard.
