Features: To implement the "Environmental Protection Law of the People's Republic of China" and the "Solid Waste Pollution Environment Prevention and Control Law of the People's Republic of China," prevent pollution caused by medical waste incinerators, protect the environment, and ensure human health, this standard has been formulated. This standard was proposed by the Science and Technology Standards Department of the State Environmental Protection Administration, the Industry and Transportation Department of the State Standardization Administration, and the Environment and Resource Comprehensive Utilization Department of the National Development and Reform Commission. The China Research Institute of Solid Waste Pollution Control and Technology under the China Environmental Science Research Academy is responsible for drafting this standard. This standard is a trial standard, which will take effect from June 30, 2003, with a trial period of one year.
