History and Culture

Luojishan was historically one of China's earlier Buddhist holy sites. It was opened up during the Han Dynasty, and Buddhist activities were already flourishing by the Tang Dynasty. At its peak, Luoji Temple alone supported more than 3,000 monks, and many temples were built. The ruins still exist today. In Buddhism, Luojishan is called "Ziwei." According to records, on the western foot of Luojishan alone there were two pavilions and thirteen temples of the larger Caodong sect.

Main Attractions

Hot Spring Waterfall

It is the only natural hot spring in the world that can be viewed, enjoyed, drunk, and used for healing (a radon hot spring). Dozens of hot spring waterfalls of varying sizes form a hot spring waterfall group more than 200 meters wide. The 40°C hot spring water cascades down from a cliff halfway up the mountain. Where the waterfall flows, it forms a spectacular group of stalactites, and the stalactites in turn form countless natural pools.

Hot Spring Islands

Formed by underground hot spring eruptions, they consist of six small islands. Visitors can soak in hot springs on the islands, and there are also cave hot springs within the islands.

Cliff Hot Spring

The world's only hanging-wall hot spring. The hot spring gushes out from the cliff face and forms a hot spring pool. Later, people expanded it to form the current cliff hot spring.

Hot Spring Swimming Pool

The water is about 1.5 meters deep, allowing visitors to enjoy both hot springs and swimming.

Hot Spring Fish Therapy Pool

Hot spring fish therapy refers to raising a type of small fish that lives in hot springs in a hot spring pool. Due to their special living habits, these fish can not only survive year-round in hot spring water with temperatures as high as 40°C, but most remarkably, when people enter the pool, the small fish become your bathing assistants.

Observation Deck

Standing on the observation deck on the cliff, you can overlook the entire valley. From a high vantage point, your field of vision suddenly opens up, and the beauty of the entire valley is fully visible. Surrounded by green trees and with winding streams, it makes people feel relaxed and happy, and linger with no wish to leave.
