Shenzhen Window of the World

Shenzhen Window of the World is located in Overseas Chinese Town, Nanshan District, Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, and is a national 5A-level tourist attraction. Themed around world cultures, the park features miniature replicas of famous historical sites and landmark buildings from around the globe at various scales. It is a large-scale cultural tourism park that combines cultural exhibitions, themed performances, amusement rides, and festive events. Covering an area of 480,000 square meters, the park contains over 100 miniature reproductions of world-famous landmarks, supplemented by theme theaters, amusement facilities, leisure squares, and other supporting structures. It condenses the splendor of world civilizations into one park, allowing visitors to admire iconic architectural sights from around the world without traveling far.

History and Culture

Shenzhen Window of the World was invested and built by OCT Group and officially opened on June 18, 1994. It is one of Shenzhen’s earliest landmark theme parks. The original purpose was to popularize world history, geography, and multicultural knowledge among domestic visitors by presenting the achievements of different civilizations through miniature landscapes.

After its opening, the park went beyond static displays and has continuously produced large-scale live performances, incorporating folk customs and historical stories from various countries into stage shows, forming a distinctive performing arts culture. Over the years, while preserving its classic miniature landscapes, the park has added new amusement experiences and themed festivals, blending sightseeing with interactive experiences. It has become a cultural tourism business card for Shenzhen, having received a vast number of domestic and international tourists and witnessed the development of Shenzhen’s cultural tourism industry.

Main Attractions

World Square

World Square is the core entrance area of the park. It features ten historical and cultural columns depicting stories from different civilizations, surrounded by multiple representative world sculptures, with a large open-air performance stage directly ahead. This is the main venue for large-scale themed evening shows and festival galas, and it is also the primary gathering and photo spot for visitors upon entry. The spacious and grand space sets the world-culture theme for the entire park.

Eiffel Tower

The Eiffel Tower is a one?third scale replica, standing 108 meters tall and serving as the landmark of Shenzhen Window of the World. Visitors can take an elevator to the observation deck for a panoramic view of the entire park and the Shenzhen cityscape. At night, the tower features a light show with dazzling color effects, making it a key nighttime attraction.

Pyramids Complex

The Pyramids Complex replicates the Giza Pyramids and the Great Sphinx of Egypt at a reduced scale. The structures faithfully reproduce the architectural features of ancient Egypt, set against desert?style surroundings to evoke the ancient civilization of the Nile Valley. Informational panels nearby provide historical background on ancient Egypt.

Arc de Triomphe

The Arc de Triomphe is a miniature replica of the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, France, preserving the arch shape and detailed relief carvings on the exterior. Visitors can walk through the archway, and the reliefs depict stories related to European historical wars. It is a representative photo spot in the European section.

Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls simulates the real Niagara Falls in North America with an artificial waterfall. Water cascades down over rocky landscapes to recreate the natural scenery. At certain times, there are water shows, and the visual impact of the falling water is quite striking.

Angkor Wat

Angkor Wat replicates the temple complex of Cambodia’s Angkor Wat, including cloisters, stone towers, and carved stone reliefs, showcasing the architectural style of ancient Southeast Asian temples. The reliefs depict Southeast Asian mythological stories, making it a key attraction in the Southeast Asian civilization zone.

Leaning Tower of Pisa

The Leaning Tower of Pisa recreates the iconic tilt of the Italian original, preserving the marble texture and inclined structure. Surrounded by a small Italian?style square, it is a popular photo spot in the European zone.
