The Lianba Yezhe Scenic Area is located in Aba County, Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, at the junction of Sichuan, Gansu, and Qinghai provinces. It belongs to the southern branch of the Bayan Har Mountains and is a national 4A-level tourist attraction. The scenic area covers a total area of about 800 square kilometers, with the section in Aba County covering about 500 square kilometers. It is mainly known for its grotesque peaks and rocks, glacial relics, snow mountains, and lakes, and is a provincial-level ecotourism demonstration zone. The highest altitude within the area is 5,141 meters, and the average altitude of the peaks is above 4,000 meters. The scenic area is home to grand monasteries of the five major schools of Tibetan Buddhism and features primitive and simple ancient buildings of Amdo Tibetan villages.
History and Culture
Lianba Yezhe was the ancient battlefield where King Gesar fought. The Chinese meaning of "Lianba Yezhe" is "the peak of dignified jade," and it is regarded as a sacred mountain in Tibetan areas. A large number of glacial relics are also preserved here, witnessing glacial activity in Earth's history and holding high scientific research value. In addition, Gemo Monastery within the scenic area is one of the representative Gelug monasteries. It holds two Guinness World Records and is one of China's largest connected Buddhist temple buildings, housing a relic of Shakyamuni inside.
Main Attractions
Zhaga'erco
Zhaga'erco, at an altitude of 4,300 meters, is one of the highest lakes in Aba County. The lake water is clear and emerald green, surrounded by mountains on all sides, with the peaks reflected in the lake, creating a magnificent scene. Its peaks are majestic and enchanting, and along the way there are many peculiar ridges, peaks and valleys, mountain streams, and unusual rocks, rich in variation and combining soft beauty, strength, majesty, and elegance.
Longga Cuolama
Longga Cuolama Lake, at an altitude of 3,995 meters and with an area of about 1.5 square kilometers, is the largest lake within the Lianba Yezhe Scenic Area in Aba County. The lake water is clear, reflecting both the sky and the majestic granite into the lake. Fish swim in the lake, waterbirds fly over its surface, and the lakeshore is broad and gentle.
Luoyunco
Luoyunco is a beautiful plateau freshwater lake at an altitude of 4,150 meters, with an area of about 0.5 square kilometers. The lake water is tranquil and deep, like a huge mirror. Fish shuttle through the lake, waterfalls flutter along the shore, and Niuxin Stone is delicate and rounded.
Huangya Beach
Huangya Beach has a blue ice lake, beside which is a water road. It is a great spot for producing S-curve road photos.
4520 Viewing Platform
At an altitude of 4,520 meters, it is called the 4520 Viewing Platform. It offers a panoramic view of the entire Zhaga'erco. Standing on the platform, one can feel the charm of nature and the mystery of the East.
Tour Routes：
You can first go to the viewing platform for a photo stop, then drive downhill to Zhaga'erco, and finally slowly visit natural landscapes such as Baixiang Lake, Bonsai Beach, Luoxia Lake, and meadow flower seas on the way down. You can also refer to the following route: Seda (Five Ming Buddhist Academy) - Rangtang (Wild Man Valley) - Aba County (Lianba Yezhe · Stone Mountain Scenic Area) - Maierma Town - Jialuo Town - Tangke (First Bend of the Yellow River) - Zoige (Langmusi).
Travel Suggestions：
The scenic area is at a high altitude, so it is recommended to prepare anti-altitude sickness medication in advance, rest during the trip, and avoid strenuous exercise.
Prepare warm clothing. Even in summer, the temperature difference between morning and evening in the scenic area is large.
Bring sun protection items. The ultraviolet radiation in plateau areas is strong.
If time permits, you can arrange 2-3 days to fully enjoy the beauty of the scenic area.

Tour according to the routes and areas designated by the scenic area, and do not enter undeveloped areas without authorization.
There are many wild animals in the scenic area. Do not feed or disturb them.

Self-driving: Chengdu - Dujiangyan - Wenchuan - Miyaluo - Zhegu Mountain Tunnel - Hongyuan Anqu - Aba County - A'er'gen - Andou Township - Lianba Yezhe · Stone Mountain Scenic Area.
By bus: Take a bus from Chengdu Chadianzi Bus Station to Aba County (daily departure times are 6:40/7:50 in the morning), and after arriving in Aba County, charter a car to the scenic area.
