The Great Tang Paradise is located at No. 99 Furong West Road, Qujiang New District, Yanta District, Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province. It is a national 5A-level tourist attraction. It is China's first large-scale cultural theme park primarily featuring royal garden style. Taking Xi'an's glorious history as the "Capital of the Prosperous Tang Dynasty" as its main thread, it integrates the essence of the historical landscape of the High Tang. From multiple perspectives such as architecture, cuisine, song and dance, music, and folk customs, and using modern high-tech means and rich and varied programs, it vividly interprets and comprehensively reproduces the splendid culture of the Tang Dynasty. The architectural design of the park was completed by Ms. Zhang Jinqiu, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and the landscape design was done by Japanese designer Hiroshi Akiyama. The park covers an area of 1,000 mu, of which the water area is 300 mu.
Historical Culture
The Qujiang area where the Great Tang Paradise is located was an imperial forbidden garden from the Qin and Han dynasties through the Sui and Tang periods. In the Qin Dynasty, it was "Yichun Garden." In the Sui Dynasty, with Qujiang Pool as the center, the imperial forbidden garden was expanded, and lotuses were widely planted. Qujiang Pool was renamed "Furong Pool" and became the capital's imperial garden. In the Tang Dynasty, Furong Pool became an imperial forbidden garden and was renamed "Furong Garden" (also called "Furong Park"). It was a place for the royal family's leisure and entertainment. Emperor Xuanzong of Tang also built the Clamped City and Ziyun Tower. "The emperor's visit to Furong Garden" became a regular entertainment activity. Every time the Qujiang Grand Gathering was held, the royal nobles and common people gathered at Qujiang.
