It is a national 5A-level tourist attraction, covering a total area of 4.50 square kilometers. The scenic area integrates tea production, ecological public-welfare forest transformation, landscaping, tourism, and vacation services. With beautiful mountains and clear waters, and spring-like weather all year round, it boasts vast tea gardens where tea plants cover the hillsides. The architectural style within the area blends Hakka cultural elements with modern touches—for example, the Weilong Hotel combines the charm of traditional Hakka architecture with modern facilities. The scenic area also features multiple tea culture exhibition and experience zones, where visitors can gain in-depth knowledge of tea planting, picking, and processing.

History and Culture

The Meixian District, where Yannanfei Tea Garden is located, is a renowned Hakka region with profound Hakka cultural heritage. After migrating southward, the Hakka ancestors cultivated this land and developed a unique culture encompassing architecture, cuisine, folk customs, and more.

In terms of tea culture, Meizhou has a long history of tea cultivation. During its development, Yannanfei Tea Garden has inherited and promoted local tea traditions, combining tea growing, processing, and tourism, allowing visitors to appreciate the charm of tea culture while enjoying the scenery.

Yannanfei Divine Stone

Surrounded by green trees and set against the backdrop of the tea fields, it is a popular spot for visitors to take photos upon arrival. Many stop here to admire the stone’s grandeur, feel the unique atmosphere of the area, and mark the beginning of a wonderful tea garden journey.

Tea Gardens

The tea gardens are the core landscape of Yannanfei. Rows upon rows of lush tea plants stretch across the hillsides in neat formation. Visitors can stroll along the garden paths, breathe in the fresh fragrance of tea, and enjoy the endless green views. During the picking season, they can also watch tea farmers at work and even try their hand at tea plucking.
