Conghua Bishuiwan Hot Spring Resort

Located on the bank of the Liuxi River in Liangkou Town, Conghua District, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, Conghua Bishuiwan Hot Spring Resort is a national 4A-level tourist attraction. The resort features rare sodium bicarbonate hot springs as its core highlight and is a well-known hot spring leisure destination in Guangzhou. Covering an area of approximately 240 mu (about 16 hectares), the resort is nestled between mountains and rivers, backed by green hills and adjacent to the Liuxi River National Forest Park, offering an exceptional natural ecological environment. The park contains hot spring pools, a resort hotel, multi-functional conference halls, restaurants, leisure sports facilities, and other supporting buildings, integrating hot spring wellness, accommodation, dining, business meetings, and leisure vacations. The hot spring water resources are abundant, with spring water gushing from deep underground and rich in various trace elements beneficial to human health.

History and Culture

Conghua has been known as the "Home of Hot Springs" in Lingnan since ancient times, with a long history of local hot spring development. As early as ancient times, locals used natural hot springs for bathing and therapy. The Liangkou area is rich in geothermal resources, and the underground hot spring belt has long been familiar to local residents.

Bishuiwan Hot Spring Resort officially opened in 2002, developing systematically on the basis of Conghua's high-quality geothermal hot spring resources. After its establishment, the resort has been dedicated to the hot spring wellness and cultural tourism sector, emphasizing an ecological hot spring vacation concept. Over the years, it has continuously optimized its hot spring facilities and services, gradually becoming a benchmark project for Conghua's hot spring cultural tourism and driving the development of the hot spring resort industry along the Liuxi River. Hot Spring Pool Area

The hot spring pool area is the core of the resort, featuring over 30 outdoor hot spring pools with diverse functions, distributed along the hillside and surrounded by greenery. The pools are divided into herbal bath zones, aromatherapy zones, children's splash areas, geothermal stone-bath areas, hot spring waterfalls, and more. Each pool uses naturally flowing and replenished spring water. The herbal baths are infused with different herbal materials, the stone-bath area uses geothermal heat for warm compress therapy, and the children's splash area has shallow-water play facilities suitable for family visits.

Liuxi River Viewing Promenade

Built along the outer edge of the resort by the Liuxi River, the promenade offers visitors a place to stroll and enjoy river views as well as the forested scenery on the opposite bank. It is an outdoor area for leisure walks, photography, and sightseeing.

Riverside Leisure Plaza

Located in an open area near the riverbank, the plaza is spacious and suitable for rest and team-building activities. It is surrounded by trees and greenery, providing fresh air.

It is recommended to visit in autumn or winter for the best hot spring experience, as the comfortable temperatures enhance wellness benefits.

It is better to enter the hot spring area in the afternoon or early evening to avoid the midday heat.

With so many pools, prioritize those with fewer visitors rather than trying to visit all at once.

Plan for half a day to a full day; if time permits, consider staying overnight at the resort.

Combine your visit with nearby attractions such as Liuxi River Forest Park and Xitou Village for a one? or two?day itinerary from Conghua.

Families with children should head to the children's splash area first and ensure close supervision; keep children away from high?temperature and deep pools.

Important Notes:

Do not enter the hot springs on an empty stomach, nor immediately after a heavy meal.

Limit each soak to about 15?20 minutes, and take breaks to rest and rehydrate.

People who have consumed alcohol, suffer from severe cardiovascular diseases, have skin conditions, or are pregnant are advised not to use the hot springs.

Swimsuits are required in the hot spring area; please follow public order within the park.

As outdoor pool areas may have mosquitoes, it is advisable to bring insect repellent.

Water temperatures vary; always test the temperature with your hand before entering to avoid scalding.

Bringing food into the pool area is prohibited.

Transportation:

Self-driving: Navigate to "Conghua Bishuiwan Hot Spring Resort." From downtown Guangzhou, take the Dayu Expressway and National Highway 105; the journey takes about 1.5?2 hours. The resort offers free parking.

Public transport: Take the metro to Conghua Coach Station, then transfer to a bus heading toward Liangkou Town and get off at the Bishuiwan Hot Spring stop; walk to the resort.

Tourist buses: On holidays, some Guangzhou stations operate tour buses to Conghua's hot spring areas; check schedules before departure.

Opening Hours:

The hot spring area is open daily from 09:00 to 23:00. The resort hotel offers 24?hour check?in. During statutory holidays, operating hours generally remain unchanged, but in case of equipment maintenance, the resort may adjust opening times; please check official announcements before your visit.
