Ge Xian Village Resort

Ge Xian Village Resort is located within the Ge Xian Mountain Scenic Area in Yanshan County, Shangrao City, Jiangxi Province. It was invested in and constructed by Xinbang Culture and Tourism. The core area covers 650 mu, with a building area of 150,000 square meters. It was designed and built according to the standards of a national 5A-level scenic area and is currently a national AAAA-level tourist attraction. With the goal of building "a new landmark for Jiangxi tourism and an internationally leading comprehensive tourism resort," the resort relies on the cultural context of Ge Xuan's cultivation practices in the Eastern Han Dynasty, integrates creative elements of water, bamboo, and village along with Daoist concepts, and has built attractions such as Zhongmiao Pavilion, Yuanfang Flying Waterfall, and Tianjing Terrace. It is equipped with a Xiansu-themed hotel cluster and a night tourism project system, forming a comprehensive resort that integrates ecotourism, leisure vacations, business conferences and exhibitions, and traditional cultural experiences.

The resort became a provincial-level tourist resort in Jiangxi in 2020. In 2022, it was selected as a Jiangxi provincial nighttime cultural and tourism consumption cluster, and in 2023 it was rated as a national-level nighttime cultural and tourism consumption cluster. Variety shows such as "Youth Periplous 2," "Please Have Dinner, Sister," and "Go Fighting! 9" have been filmed here. The scenic area operates transportation facilities such as cable cars and sightseeing buses, has more than 2,000 parking spaces, and offers 950 hotel guest rooms. Night tourism activities include light shows, water screen movies, and intangible cultural heritage performances.

In May 2026, news spread that the "Little Yellow Fish" NPC at Ge Xian Village Resort became popular online for a "candy-feeding" interaction. During the interaction, visitors ring an interaction bell, and "Little Yellow Fish" appears from behind a curtain and feeds a lollipop to the visitor with their mouth. The interaction was questioned as edging on inappropriate content, "deviating from the original intention of NPCs to build a bridge connecting visitors and culture, and lowering the tone of the cultural tourism industry." On May 2, Ge Xian Village Resort stated that the scenic area had decided to immediately take corrective measures in response to the matter, namely standardizing the interaction formats of all NPCs with immediate effect; strengthening cultural literacy training for performers, guiding the focus of performances back to the cultural core, and creating immersive experiences suitable for all ages; and establishing dedicated feedback channels, humbly accepting supervision and suggestions from all sectors of society, and continuously improving.
