Features: To explore the development model of environmental protection under the market economy, further guide, promote, and facilitate the market-oriented and industrialized development of China's environmental protection, the Technology and Standards Department of the State Environmental Protection Administration (SEPA) commissioned the Chinese Society for Environmental Science to organize the "Advanced Symposium on Marketization of Environmental Protection and Enterprise Management of Environmental Protection Facilities" in Beijing on June 30, 1999. The symposium systematically discussed the issue of marketization of environmental protection from economic, administrative, legal, theoretical, and practical perspectives, providing valuable references for promoting the market-oriented and industrialized development of China's environmental protection in the future. To preserve the outcomes of the symposium and continue to contribute to the advancement of market-oriented environmental protection, a collection of papers was compiled and formally published under the title "Market Economy and Environmental Protection" as the "Proceedings of the Advanced Symposium on Marketization of Environmental Protection and Enterprise Management of Environmental Protection Facilities." The book includes a total of 60 papers, covering three main parts: discussions on the marketization of environmental protection, the operation of environmental protection facilities, and the development of the environmental protection industry.
