Legend has it that long ago, a dragon from the East Sea traveled here on a tour and, seeing such a wondrous place, felt that even the East Sea paled in comparison, so it hid itself here and refused to leave — hence the name "Yulong River" (Meeting the Dragon River). The Yulong River in Yangshuo is like a scroll of painting, with mountains of countless shapes and forms on both banks, layered bamboo groves along the river, evergreen banana trees, and rice paddies whose colors change with the seasons, filling the fields with vibrant green and brimming with poetic charm. The water of the Yulong River is so clear you can see the bottom, and so blue it is translucent. Standing by the riverbank, you would feel as if it were the cloudless sky above your head. The intimate, delicate bamboo raft drifting on the Yulong River will thoroughly wash away the fatigue of your self-driving trip, leaving you relaxed in body and mind, so joyful that you forget home. The Yulong River is probably a tourist attraction recommended by virtually every visitor to Guilin!
