Features: The author of "A Thousand Character Classic" is named Zhou Xingsi, who served as a Gentleman of the Chariot and a Court Attendant during the reign of Emperor Wu of the Southern Qi Dynasty. According to historical records, Emperor Xiao Yan of the Southern Qi ordered someone to select one thousand different characters from the works of Wang Xizhi, with each character on a separate sheet of paper. These unordered rubbings were then given to Zhou Xingsi to compile into a rhyming text with meaningful content.
