Features: Bill Gates said: In market competition, the competition between enterprises is primarily a competition in employee quality. Therefore, how to effectively improve employees' quality, make them better represent the corporate image, make communication and cooperation more smooth, and create more benefits for the company, are the urgent tasks of modern enterprises. Etiquette is the expression and behavior skills of self-discipline and respect for others, the external manifestation of personal quality and social outlook, and also the specific representation of corporate image. For professional individuals, learning business etiquette can effectively shape their quality and professional image, making their interaction partners form a good impression of being standardized, rigorous, professional, polite, and restrained, thereby forming a unique competitive advantage for the enterprise. So, what is business etiquette? Business etiquette is the set of behavioral norms and conventions used by people in business activities to maintain the image of the enterprise or the individual, showing respect and friendliness to interaction partners. Simply put, it is the etiquette norms and interpersonal skills suitable for business occasions. It is the application and embodiment of general etiquette in business activities. Compared to general interpersonal etiquette, business etiquette has strong standardization and operability, and is closely related to the economic benefits of business organizations. With the increasing globalization of business activities, business etiquette is playing an increasingly important role. Business etiquette has become an essential communication tool in modern business activities, and more and more enterprises are taking business etiquette as a basic knowledge requirement for their employees. Statistics show that Japan spends about hundreds of millions of US dollars annually on business etiquette training for its employees. Confucius said: "Respect is etiquette," respect is the foundation of etiquette emotions. In social interactions, people are equal, and showing respect and care for interaction partners is an effective way to gain their respect. "Those who respect others will be respected in return; those who love others will be loved in return." Respect is mutual. If you respect others, they will naturally understand your good intentions, accept your kindness, and then "offer a peach and receive a plum." At the 2004 Beijing World Wealth Forum, the behavior of some domestic business professionals at the forum made people feel "extremely frustrated": many people smoked continuously, and some made and received calls on their mobile phones without any regard for the meeting. These "eye-catching" details were "honorably" recorded by numerous newspapers, television stations, and other media. In the first half of 2004, an incident in a certain Arab country led to more Chinese merchants making a firm decision to learn etiquette. Several dozen Chinese merchants doing business locally were "invited" to jail by the police for gambling in a crowd. This might be a minor matter in China, where paying a fine could "settle" it. But this time, after multiple diplomatic negotiations and a long delay, they were released only after paying a heavy fine. In Islamic countries, gambling is considered a serious violation of religious rules and is regarded as a very serious crime. After the incident, relevant national departments once again called on Chinese citizens abroad to understand and respect the local etiquette and customs. Therefore, for modern enterprises, learning and popularizing business etiquette has become an important means for them to improve their reputation and enhance their core competitiveness. This not only aligns with the trend but is also a necessity of the situation.
