In China, with a large population, relatively insufficient resources, and weak environmental carrying capacity, energy shortages have become a stumbling block to economic and social development. Water scarcity and arable land shortages are even a critical concern for the Chinese nation. However, although we are aware of this fundamental national condition and see the current reality of resource scarcity, the work, study, and daily lives of many people have not been significantly affected. Before the pressure of resource scarcity transforms into real personal pressures in daily life, the urgency of saving is not strong, and the awareness of saving is not deep.
For individuals, practicing thrift is not only a good habit but also a civilized behavior. For society, practicing thrift is a culture that reflects the level of social civilization. Starting now, starting from ourselves, starting from small actions—saving every kilowatt of electricity, every drop of water, every sheet of paper, and every grain of food—is essential. More importantly, we must cultivate a healthy and scientific lifestyle and a civilized and thrifty consumption model. On this basis, the whole society can foster a trend of "saving is glorious, wasting is shameful" and establish a resource-conserving society that is sustainable.
This book is divided into eight chapters: saving electricity, saving gas, saving water, saving oil, saving on printing, saving on phone charges, and financial management, as well as a comprehensive section. It includes a wealth of saving tips, covering various aspects of daily life and work for the general public.
