On the first day of the new school year, he held up the student roster he had written the day before to take attendance. A student named Baozi was misread as "fish baozi," and no one answered; a student named Bai Mo was misread as "white black dog," and no one answered; a student named Lin Kun was misread as "wooden stick"; and a student named Huang Yuejin was misread as "yellow face." Of course, no one answered. He wondered, "Why aren't so many students coming to school today?" So he repeated, "Yellow face, who is yellow face, please answer!" Unsurprisingly, all the students answered in unison, "We are all yellow faces!"
