Primary and Secondary School Subject Olympiads (abbreviated as Subject Olympiads) are one of China's most extensive, widely participated, and influential subject competition activities for primary and secondary school students. Subject Olympiads are derived from and extended the concept of the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), the International Physics Olympiad (IPHO), the International Chemistry Olympiad (ICHO), and other internationally influential middle school subject competitions that attract millions of young students every year. The reason for such widespread attention lies in the strong innovation, flexibility, comprehensiveness of Olympiads, as well as their focus on cultivating students' exploration skills and inspiring their innovative awareness. These are precisely the core elements of quality education, which are also essential for future development.
Based on years of in-depth research on this activity both domestically and internationally, as well as a large number of outstanding books in this category, the Editorial Department of Primary and Secondary School Subject Olympiads has invited outstanding educators dedicated to this field from all over the country to compile and publish a series of books on mathematics, Chinese, English, physics, chemistry, biology, and information technology—comprising over 200 varieties. In terms of the variety, quantity, and quality of our Olympiad books, they are considered the most influential among peers both domestically and internationally and hold the greatest charm in the hearts of primary and secondary school teachers and students.
The compilation purpose and characteristics of the "Golden Medal Olympiads," "Golden Medal Schools," and "Exam Masters" series are as follows:
High: Derived from the curriculum but exceeding it. Derived from the curriculum means referencing the latest [Curriculum Standards] of the Ministry of Education; exceeding it means closely aligning with competition syllabi at all levels, ensuring comprehensive alignment in content, question types, and skill requirements, thereby fostering interest, developing intelligence, and enhancing abilities.
Accurate: Scientifically precise, with a well-structured design. Each book is designed based on the characteristics of the subject, scientifically organized, and follows a step-by-step approach to provide in-depth yet accessible analysis and detailed problem-solving methods.
Innovative: The questions selected are novel, unique, and highly engaging. They gather the essence of recent Olympiad, middle school, and high school exam questions from both China and abroad, representing the highest level of current Olympiads and reflecting new concepts in curriculum reform, as well as new ideas, methods, and trends in competition question-setting.
Exquisite: Carefully selected examples are challenging yet logical, flexible, and achievable. The focus is on learning through examples, generalizing from specific cases, and encouraging multi-solution, multi-variable, and multi-question approaches. Emphasis is placed on training thinking skills rather than rote memorization, making learning an interest and hobby.
