Features: This book consists of 10 volumes, collecting the handwritten confessions of 45 Japanese war criminals from the "Second World War" period who were tried publicly by the Supreme People's Court of China in 1956. To authentically present the original confessions, the book is entirely printed using copies of the original Japanese handwritten confessions and the original Chinese translations prepared by the Supreme People's Procuratorate of the Central People's Government (later renamed the Supreme People's Procuratorate of the People's Republic of China) based on the Japanese text. The publication of this book provides genuine and abundant written evidence for exposing the atrocities of Japan's invasion of China. It was earlier listed by the General Administration of Press and Publication as a key book project under the "Fifteenth Five-Year Plan" national publishing plan and a key book topic commemorating the 60th anniversary of the victory in the Anti-Fascist War.
After the founding of the New China, a total of 1,109 Japanese war criminals were taken over and detained. In 1954, the Supreme People's Procuratorate of the Central People's Government (later renamed the Supreme People's Procuratorate of the People's Republic of China) was responsible for investigating and prosecuting the Japanese war criminals who invaded China. In 1956, the Supreme People's Procuratorate of the People's Republic of China declared that 1,017 war criminals with relatively minor crimes and better expressions of remorse were exempt from prosecution and were released immediately. For the 45 Japanese war criminals with higher ranks and severe crimes, prosecution was initiated.
The "Confessions of Japanese War Criminals Who Invaded China" includes the handwritten confessions of the 45 Japanese war criminals who were publicly tried, along with photographs and images held in the Central Archives. To authentically present the original confessions, the book is entirely printed using copies of the original confessions and the original Chinese translations prepared by the Supreme People's Procuratorate based on the Japanese text. This is the first time China has systematically published the original confessions of Japanese war criminals who invaded China. This book provides genuine and abundant written material for exposing the atrocities of Japan's invasion of China.
This book serves as the self-confession of the war crimes of Japanese war criminals. It not only provides the Chinese people with a vivid textbook to inspire patriotic enthusiasm but also offers the world an irrefutable historical evidence of the criminal actions of Japanese imperialism in invading China. It holds significant educational value for the younger generation who have not experienced the hardships of the Anti-Japanese War and helps them understand the history of Japan's imperialist invasion of China. At the same time, the book "Confessions of Japanese War Criminals Who Invaded China" powerfully refutes the efforts of Japan's right-wing forces to deliberately distort Japanese history textbooks to revive Japanese militarism and conceal the facts of the invasion war.
