Facing the development of academia both domestically and internationally in the 21st century, we must strive to promote the rapid growth of our young scholars so that they can be recognized and accepted by the academic community as early as possible. To this end, we must make even greater efforts. For example, we need to cultivate their dedication to studying Marxist theory, ensuring that young scholars who are about to become renowned remember and uphold the traditions left by former directors of the Institute of Modern History, such as Fan Wenlan and Liu Dajan. These traditions include not only sitting patiently and conducting solid research but also maintaining a correct research direction and fostering a serious sense of responsibility toward the nation and society. This is my hope, and it is also the common hope of my older generation of scholars.
