Features: Vulvovaginal candidiasis is a common and prevalent disease in obstetrics and gynecology, associated with sexual transmission, and it troubles the lives, work, and studies of many women, even affecting fertility. General medical personnel, especially the public, are accustomed to still referring to it as "yeast vulvovaginitis," but in reality, since its pathogen is Candida, medical personnel should use the correct scientific name—vulvovaginal candidiasis. Although this disease is one of the common and prevalent conditions in obstetrics and gynecology, there are few in-depth studies on it. Most mistakenly believe it is simple and that there is nothing more to research, often limited to drug upgrades and replacements. As a result, there is a lack of attention to research and prevention of this disease. In fact, the pathogenesis, triggers, diagnosis, and treatment of this disease are closely related to gynecology, obstetrics, family planning, neonatology, as well as male and female urinary tract infections. It is also a broad field for in-depth research and prevention. For this reason, the authors have compiled a specialized book in China that provides a detailed explanation of vulvovaginal candidiasis. Although it only contains over 60,000 words, including 16 tables and 14 illustrations, the content is rich, comprehensive, and visually engaging. It is hoped that the publication of this book will help medical personnel to re-recognize and pay attention to this disease, and benefit the daily diagnostic and treatment work of medical personnel in obstetrics and gynecology, women's health care, family planning, neonatology, and sexually transmitted disease prevention.
