Features: Marxist philosophy takes human practical activity, which serves as the foundation of the existing world, as its research object. Marxist philosophy takes changing the world as its historical mission in philosophy, representing a proletarian philosophy that is highly unified in scientificity and revolutionary nature, and is an internally vibrant, open theory that continues to develop in practice. As the essence of the spirit of the contemporary era, Marxist philosophy is a powerful ideological weapon guiding people to correctly understand and transform the world. It serves as a scientific worldview and methodology guiding social progress and research in specific sciences, as well as the theoretical foundation for the working-class party to formulate correct policies, guidelines, and strategies. Seriously studying Marxist philosophy holds great significance for us to establish a scientific worldview, life philosophy, and values, enhance our theoretical thinking abilities, and master the scientific theories and principles for understanding and transforming the world.
To meet the needs of reform and development in the teaching of Marxist philosophy in higher normal universities under new circumstances, we organized 12 philosophy teachers from 10 universities in Sichuan to collaboratively write this textbook. This book fully incorporates the latest research findings on the principles of Marxist philosophy from both domestic and international sources, striving to reflect the consistency among dialectics, epistemology, and logic. It rationally modifies and reconstructs the traditional two major sections of dialectical materialism and historical materialism, fully clarifying the practical nature, social-historical criticism, and new perspectives of Marxist philosophy, such as the essence of human beings, freedom, and comprehensive development. We hope this textbook will be more suitable for the teaching of philosophy instructors in normal universities and the learning of their students.
