Features: The new round of basic education curriculum reform in China aims to address the tendencies of being difficult, complex, narrow, and outdated in previous curriculum content and the single structure of courses, and to build a new basic education curriculum system that fully reflects comprehensiveness, balance, and selectivity. Curriculum reform requires the guidance of advanced educational concepts and the support of successful experiences. Therefore, while examining, summarizing, and promoting our existing mature theories and successful experiences, we should also pay attention to reforms worldwide. Organizing and drawing on the beneficial achievements of various countries is a major theoretical challenge facing the reform of basic education curriculum in China. To this end, the "Series of Prospects for Subject Education" published by East China Normal University Press, compiled by Professor Zhong Qiquan based on the findings of his major project "Comparative Research on Special Topics in Basic Education Curriculum Reform" funded by the Ministry of Education, will provide necessary theoretical guidance for the current basic education curriculum reform in China. The book includes: a historical review of China's physical education curriculum and textbooks, the main problems in China's physical education curriculum and teaching, the basic concepts of the new physical education curriculum, and the curriculum and evaluation reform of the new physical education curriculum.
