General Theory of German Debt Law

Author: (German) Meidicus Du Jinglin
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2004-01-01
Features: A textbook on the law of obligations The last edition was compiled and published by Molitor 16 years ago (the general part was a reprint of the 8th edition, and the special part was a reprint of the 7th edition, both based on the 1965 version). Since then, the law of obligations, as the core of civil law and the entire legal system, has not been published in the concise legal textbook series by Beck-Verlag in Germany. This book is specifically designed to fill this gap. It is not a continuation of Molitor's work but an independent discussion of the law of obligations. In this book, the author focuses on the reasons and purposes of the current rules, as well as the systematic connections between the current rules. (This is also why there are many "summaries" in the book.) The purpose of doing so is to recognize that understanding these matters is not only necessary for the meaningful and correct application of the law but also helps learners avoid being overwhelmed by a vast amount of details.
