Features: On the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the Institute of Law, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, we wanted to do something for the scholars who have dedicated themselves to the institute over the years. After careful consideration, we decided to invite scholars who have made significant achievements in their respective fields to select their best works over the years and publish them as a series titled "Essentials of Law of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences." Each volume begins with an academic biography. The academic biographies are written by the authors themselves or commissioned by them. The formats and lengths of these biographies vary, but they all reflect the authors' research experiences and personal journeys, as well as their academic and personal styles. The main part of each selected collection consists of the authors' works from different periods. When negotiating the publication of these collections with the authors, they were concerned that republishing previously published papers might be disrespectful to readers. However, we believed that when authors select their papers, they exercise their own prudent academic judgment. Through the authors' careful selections, combined with the insights conveyed in the academic biographies and the historical context, we gain a deeper understanding of the content and value of each paper in the collection. By reading this book, you will not only learn about Professor Zheng Chengsi's academic thoughts and journey but also revisit the challenging or joyful academic path he has taken alongside him. It teaches you knowledge and ideas, and it teaches you growth and reflection.
