Features: This book collects papers published by the author since entering the field of Chinese legal history in 1981. Since 1978, when the author enrolled in the Master's program at the Law Department of Peking University, his research focus has been on modern law. Over more than two decades, he has gradually written on the modernization of Chinese law and the development of modern Chinese legal studies. The texts compiled in this book fall under these two categories. Works on other topics have not been included. When compiling this book, it was initially planned to divide it into seven volumes, but later, following the suggestion of Professor Liu Guang'an, it was revised to six volumes. Volume 1 is dedicated to legal modernization, serving as a specialized discussion on the topic. Volume 2 focuses on the study of modern Chinese legal studies. Volume 3 is a on Shen Jiaben. Volume 4 is a specialized discussion on the thoughts of some important figures during the transformation of modern legal systems. Volume 5 is dedicated to commentaries and analyses. Volume 6 consists of lectures. However, regardless of how the volumes are divided, they all revolve around the two aforementioned aspects.
