Features: This book is a research outcome of the "Reform Plan for Teaching Content and Curriculum Systems in Higher Education Towards the 21st Century" by the Ministry of Education. It is a textbook for the 21st-century curriculum and the "Nineth Five-Year Plan" textbook for engineering mechanics by the Ministry of Education. In the statics section, this book adopts a new theoretical system, replacing the traditional five axioms with the theorem of equivalent force systems and the theorem of equilibrium force systems. This significantly reduces the proof process for theories such as force system simplification, couple equivalence, and equilibrium, making the concepts clear and rigorous, and the explanations concise and straightforward. This enhances the efficiency and quality of theoretical mechanics teaching, representing a major breakthrough compared to previous textbooks. The book uses the symbols and units specified by national standards, removing the content on engineering units. It appropriately increases the discussion on analytical methods for problem-solving, as well as the number of study guides, conceptual questions, and thought-provoking questions. Finally, it includes some comprehensive problems to cultivate students' ability to comprehensively apply knowledge from statics, kinematics, and dynamics. This book can be used as a textbook for engineering majors with fewer credit hours in higher education institutions and is also suitable for relevant technical personnel as a self-study book.
