Features: This book is a supplement and revision based on the second edition of 1989, developed according to the "Basic Requirements for Teaching of Engineering Thermodynamics" (fewer credits) formulated by the Ministry of Education. It primarily covers the fundamental concepts, basic laws of thermodynamics, as well as the properties, processes, and cycles of gases and steam. The book includes examples, thought-provoking questions, exercises, and necessary thermodynamic charts. The entire book adopts the legal units of measurement in China, but considering current engineering practices, necessary explanations are provided for certain engineering units. This book was commissioned by the Teaching Guidance Committee for Thermodynamic Courses for review by Professor Wu Cunzhen of Zhejiang University, and was approved by the full meeting of the Teaching Guidance Committee for Thermodynamic Courses. It can serve as a textbook for engineering thermodynamics for non-thermal energy majors, and is also available for reference by relevant engineering professionals.
