《Practical Piano Tutorial》 was compiled according to the teaching syllabus of piano general courses for music majors in higher normal universities. It is suitable for non-piano music majors in music departments of higher normal universities to study piano for two years, as well as for secondary and primary school teachers and amateur music enthusiasts who take advanced studies in music education in normal universities.
Typical piano tutorials are undoubtedly excellent for piano learners, and after rigorous training over several years, students will achieve a certain level of performance. However, when they need to improvise piano accompaniment for even a simple song, they often find themselves at a loss. This is mainly because they lack knowledge in accompanying piano. Currently published piano improvisation accompaniment textbooks are numerous and diverse, but most focus primarily on theory. Such improvisation accompaniment textbooks are undoubtedly good for students with piano skills and a certain level of theoretical knowledge. However, they can be confusing and difficult to understand for beginners who lack both piano playing skills and a foundation in music theory.
