Choral singing belongs to the category of vocal arts and is a type of polyphonic music, representing a performance art form based on collective singing. While choral singing, like other vocal performance forms, is grounded in vocal production and requires good breath support and resonance, it differs from other singing forms in its vocal production and timbre application, as well as in its artistic characteristics, artistic qualities, and expressive features. Choral art emphasizes commonality,追求s harmony, balance, and three-dimensional harmonic beauty, while focusing on coordinated and dynamic timbre beauty.
As a required course for music majors in higher normal universities, the choral singing class primarily aims to cultivate students' appreciation for choral music and their ability to perform multi-part choral songs through the teaching of choral knowledge and training techniques, as well as through the rehearsal and performance of choral works. This course further enables students to master the fundamental methods of choral teaching, the skills and techniques of choral training, and organizational abilities such as choir formation, rehearsal, and performance, laying a solid foundation for them to excel in school music teaching, conduct second-class teaching activities, and participate in social choral events in the future.
