Latest IELTS High Score Model Essays (4th Edition) (Full Year 2006 Edition)

Author: Fang Ting
Publisher: Shanghai Jiao Tong University Press
Book Description:
The 47 model essays included in this book were all written by teaching experts from the Longre Overseas Examinations Research Center. These experts have been actively involved in IELTS teaching and research at the forefront for a long time, and they have unique insights into IELTS writing. However, when writing these model essays, the authors did not solely pursue novelty in structure or ornate language. Instead, they approached the writing from the perspective of candidate learning and classroom teaching, using plain language and conventional structures as much as possible. The goal was to make these model essays as relatable to a broad range of candidates as possible, while also enhancing their readability and imitability. Most of the articles in this collection are concise, with academic task 1 essays generally limited to around 200 words and academic task 2 essays rarely exceeding 300 words. However, in terms of language, structure, and overall approach, they fully meet the requirements of the exam topics, and from a scoring perspective, they qualify as high-scoring or even perfect essays.
After each of the 47 model essays in this book, 2–3 similar IELTS exam questions have been included. These questions share significant commonalities in terms of topic categories, structure, data organization (for task 1 essays), and letter scenarios (for general training task 1 essays). It is recommended that readers, after studying the 47 model essays, also think about these additional similar questions and even select some to practice writing. By doing so, they can actively apply the language, structures, or approaches observed in the model essays, thereby solidifying their mastery of the relevant knowledge points.
