Features: According to the statistics of the Nationalist Government's Ministry of National Defense in October 1947, during the entire War of Resistance Against Japan, the Nationalist army's combat casualties amounted to 3,227,926, including 1,328,501 deaths (including 8 generals, 41 lieutenant generals, 71 majors, and 17,000 captains), 1,769,299 injuries, and 130,126 missing; due to illness, the total casualties were 937,559, including 422,479 deaths, 191,644 disabled, and 323,436 desertions. The total number of casualties was 4,165,485, a tremendous sacrifice. During the eight-year War of Resistance Against Japan, especially in the phase of strategic defense, the majority of the soldiers and officers of the Nationalist army fought bravely. They resisted the Japanese invaders to the utmost, fought for the survival of the Chinese nation, and, together with the entire people, built a great national wall with their flesh and blood. They are forever worthy of the respect and remembrance of the Chinese people and all peace-loving people!
