Features: The book was first published in 1994. This revision primarily refers to textbooks and relevant works published in the 1990s, both domestically and internationally. Within the limited space, it uses as concise and accessible language as possible to add content on rent-seeking theory, property rights theory, public choice theory, and information economics in the Microeconomics section. In the neoclassical growth model of Macroeconomics, it includes the "Golden Rule."
After World War II, Western economists gradually divided political economy (theoretical economics) into two main parts: microeconomics and macroeconomics. Microeconomics focuses on the behavior of individual economic entities. This book is the microeconomics section of our press's Modern Western Economics, consisting of five parts and seventeen chapters: basic economic concepts, consumer demand theory, supply theory, the determination of markets and prices, and the theory of factor prices and income distribution. The second edition, in addition to textual and scientific revisions of the entire book, also added new content such as rent-seeking theory, property rights theory, public choice theory, and information economics. At the same time, separate hardcover editions of microeconomics and macroeconomics will be published to meet the needs of readers at all levels.
