Book Description:
This book primarily introduces a management technique and method in the field of logistics management. With the rapid development of information technology, information management techniques have also advanced by leaps and bounds and have been applied in logistics management. As a professional textbook for vocational and technical colleges, the book designs and selects its content closely following practice, emphasizing practicality. The goal is for students to gain a fundamental understanding of logistics management, logistics information, and logistics management information through learning this book, and to be able to apply this knowledge in practice, laying a solid foundation for further study in the development of logistics information systems.
This book is set against the backdrop of modern comprehensive logistics and aims to cultivate logistics information management professionals. It elaborates on the application theory, technology, and practice of logistics information systems, striving for systematicity and scientific rigor. It focuses on practical applications rather than theoretical concepts, using numerous examples to illustrate points, making it easier for students to learn, master, and apply. The book is divided into nine chapters, each covering different knowledge domains.
Chapter 1 is divided into two parts. The first part introduces the basic knowledge, functions, composition, and development history of management information systems. The second part, which constitutes a significant portion of the chapter, describes the fundamental concepts, classification, characteristics, and roles of logistics information, as well as the relevant knowledge of modern information technology, the development of logistics information systems, and existing issues in logistics information systems.
Chapter 2 provides an introduction and analysis of information within logistics information systems, including logistics data, logistics information, logistics information standardization, functional evaluation criteria for logistics information systems, logistics information analysis, and logistics information models.
Chapter 3 introduces the information technology involved in logistics information systems, offering detailed discussions on bar code technology, GIS, GPS, and EDI technology, which are commonly used in logistics information systems.
Chapter 4 introduces the information system construction techniques used in building logistics information systems and provides an analysis and comparison of the most cutting-edge construction technologies. This enables students, after studying this chapter, to analyze and judge based on the specific needs of logistics enterprises and use appropriate technologies for system construction.
Chapter 5 covers the fundamental structure of logistics information systems. It begins with a comprehensive introduction to logistics information systems, giving students a holistic understanding, followed by detailed descriptions of the most critical components of logistics systems: warehouse management systems, transportation management systems, cost management systems, and customer management systems. The descriptions are designed to use examples as much as possible, ensuring clarity and comprehension for students.
Chapter 6 discusses the planning and design of logistics information systems. System analysis is a key step in building management information systems, so this chapter provides a detailed introduction to analytical methods.
Chapter 7 introduces the development of logistics information systems, covering structured development methods, prototyping development methods, and object-oriented development methods, with comparisons between these approaches.
Chapter 8 provides an introduction to the implementation methods of logistics information systems, offering detailed descriptions of commonly used methods.
Chapter 9 introduces logistics decision support systems, information analysis techniques, and system simulation in logistics information systems.
