Basic Chemistry (Second Edition)

Author: Hu Changwei
Publisher: Sichuan University Press
Book Description:
This book is compiled based on the total number of contact hours prescribed by the Ministry of Education since 2000, catering to the needs of undergraduates in medicine, pharmacy, and life sciences for fundamental knowledge, basic techniques, and basic methods in chemistry. It integrates relevant knowledge from inorganic chemistry, analytical chemistry, and physical chemistry, aiming to provide students with a relatively comprehensive understanding of the chemical knowledge system in a shorter time. To meet the demands of the new century for innovative talents with comprehensive qualities, the authors strive to achieve a balance of advancement, foundation, and scientific rigor in the content. While ensuring the fundamental principles, techniques, and methods of basic chemistry, the book emphasizes the close relationship between chemistry and medicine, pharmacy, and life sciences, introducing the application of chemistry in these disciplines.
This book is the revised edition of Fundamental Chemistry (edited by Hu Changwei and published by Sichuan University Press in 2003). Based on the practical needs of teaching, the authors have made significant adjustments to the chapter order, the difficulty level of the content, and the appendices. English terms related to the content have been added as annotations in the main text, and an English index has been included at the end of the book.
When used as a textbook, teachers may selectively include or exclude content based on the students' actual needs, while ensuring the fulfillment of the course's basic requirements.
