The Firefly Water Cave · Underground Grand Canyon Tourism Area is located in Yishui County, Linyi City, Shandong Province. It is a National 5A-level tourist attraction composed of two core scenic areas: Firefly Water Cave and Underground Grand Canyon, with a total area of about 20 square kilometers. History and Culture

Yishui County, where the Firefly Water Cave is located, has a long history and is one of the important birthplaces of ancient Langya culture. As early as the Neolithic Age, human beings lived and multiplied here. The Yimeng Mountain area surrounding the scenic area is a famous old revolutionary base area. During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the War of Liberation, local people actively supported the front line, leaving behind many moving revolutionary stories and a profound red cultural heritage.

The formation of the Firefly Water Cave and the Underground Grand Canyon can be traced back millions of years and belongs to typical karst cave landforms. Underground Grand Canyon

The Underground Grand Canyon has a total length of 6,100 meters, with a developed sightseeing length of 3,100 meters. The widest part of the cave is 30 meters, and the highest part reaches 30 meters. It is a rare large-scale cave in northern China. The canyon contains many landscapes such as "one river, nine springs, nine palaces, and twelve waterfalls." Stalactites, stalagmites, stone curtains, and other formations have various shapes. Opening Hours:

The scenic area is open daily from 8:00 to 17:30 (April 1 to October 31); from November 1 to March 31 of the following year, opening hours are 8:30 to 17:00. The last boat trip for the Firefly Water Cave is one hour before closing, and the last underground river rafting trip is 1.5 hours before closing. Visitors are advised to arrange their visiting time reasonably.

Transportation:

Self-driving: From downtown Linyi, drive along the Qingyin Expressway and Changshen Expressway to the Yishui exit, then drive north along Provincial Road 229 for about 15 kilometers to reach the scenic area. The total distance is about 100 kilometers, and the drive takes about 1.5 hours. From downtown Jinan, drive along the Qingyin Expressway, Jiguang Expressway, and Changshen Expressway to the Yishui exit, then drive north along Provincial Road 229. Bus: At the Yishui County Bus Station, take the shuttle bus to Yaodianzi Town and get off at the Firefly Water Cave Tourism Area stop. There is one bus every 30 minutes from 6:00 to 18:00, the ride takes about 40 minutes, and the fare is about 8 yuan/person.

Tourism special line: There is a direct tourism special line from downtown Linyi to the scenic area. It departs from Linyi General Bus Station at 8:00 every day and returns from the scenic area at 16:30. The fare is 50 yuan/person (not including tickets). Travel Suggestions:

The inside of the Firefly Water Cave is relatively dark, and quiet must be maintained. After entering the cave, visitors should not use flash photography to avoid disturbing the fireflies.

The underground river rafting is relatively exciting. It is recommended to properly store valuables in advance to avoid getting wet. In summer, you can bring a set of spare clothes.

Notes:

After entering the Firefly Water Cave, you must abide by the regulations of the scenic area. Loud noise, chasing and playing are strictly prohibited. Fireflies must not be caught, and the ecological environment must be protected.

Some sections of the Underground Grand Canyon are narrow and steep. Pay attention to safety when visiting, follow the guidance of tour guides or scenic area staff, and do not deviate from the tour route without authorization.

When taking the underground river rafting, wear a life jacket as required, hold the handrails on the rubber boat, and do not stand up or lean your body out of the boat.

Smoking is prohibited in the scenic area, and flammable and explosive items are strictly prohibited from being brought into the caves to ensure visiting safety.
