Features: Yifang Leju is a vast medical book compiled by Kim Lìmeng and others of Joseon. It gathers over 150 medical texts from before the Ming Dynasty in China and organizes them into a comprehensive collection. The content is extremely rich and extensive, making it a masterpiece of medical formulas. The original Joseon edition had 365 volumes. The Japanese acquired fragments of this book from Joseon and had scholars refer to other books to supplement the missing parts, resulting in the current edition, which has 266 volumes (with volumes 155, 156, 209, and 220 missing from the original printing). The entire book is divided into 92 categories, containing nearly 60,000 formulas. Each category first collects medical theories from various books, followed by the compilation of treatment methods and prescriptions from different sources (including acupuncture, guided exercises, dietary therapy, etc.). The content is rich and covers various medical fields such as internal medicine, surgery, gynecology, pediatrics, orthopedics, ophthalmology, and otolaryngology, as well as knowledge related to health preservation. It also includes content from Taoist scriptures, Buddhist texts, and biographical notes on medicine, preserving many lost medical documents from before the Ming Dynasty in China. The book holds significant documentary and academic value.
