Features: Yifang Laju is a vast medical book compiled by Kim Lìmён and others in Korea, first published in 1465. It preserves many medical documents lost before the Ming Dynasty in China, holding significant value in both literature and academia. To meet reader needs, Zhejiang Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine organized a re-edition of the original annotated version, restoring content previously omitted to maintain the integrity of the ancient text. Errors in the original annotations and punctuation were corrected, and traditional characters, variant characters, and clearly miswritten characters due to similar shapes were directly revised. To facilitate learning and reference, the authors wrote an article titled "Research on Yifang Laju," and an index of prescriptions, an index of diseases and syndromes, and a title index were compiled for easy consultation. The original Korean edition of this book had 365 volumes. Japanese scholars obtained fragmented copies of this book from Korea and had scholars reference other books to supplement the missing parts, resulting in the current edition of 266 volumes (with volumes 155, 156, 209, and 220 missing during the re-carving process). The entire book is divided into 92 categories, collecting nearly 60,000 prescriptions, with each category first compiling medical theories from various books, followed by the collection of treatment methods and prescriptions (including acupuncture, moxibustion, guided exercises, and dietary therapy) for diseases and syndromes from different sources. Its content is extensive, literature-rich, covering internal medicine, external medicine, gynecology, pediatrics, orthopedics, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, and knowledge of health preservation, as well as medical-related topics from Taoist scriptures, Buddhist texts, and biographical anecdotes. It extensively gathers medical theories and widely collects prescriptions, truly compiling the medical experience of China before the Ming Dynasty.
