Features: Yifang Leju is a vast medical book, compiled by Kim Lìmeng and others of Joseon. It gathers over 150 medical books from before the Ming Dynasty in China and organizes them into a single work. Its content is extremely rich and extensive, making it a comprehensive collection of medical formulas. The original Korean edition of this book had 365 volumes. The Japanese acquired fragments of this book from Korea and, based on these fragments, scholars employed others to reference various books and supplement the missing parts, resulting in the edition published today, which has 266 volumes (with volumes 155, 156, 209, and 220 missing from the original printing). The entire book is divided into 92 categories, containing nearly 60,000 formulas. At the beginning of each category, it collects medical theories from various books, followed by the compilation of treatment methods and prescriptions from different sources (including acupuncture, guided exercises, dietary therapy, etc.). The content is rich and covers internal medicine, surgery, gynecology, pediatrics, orthopedics, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, and knowledge of health preservation. It also includes related medical content from Taoist scriptures, Buddhist texts, and biographical notes. The book preserves many lost medical documents from before the Ming Dynasty in China, making it of high documentary and academic value.
