Features: Yifang Leju is a vast medical book compiled by Kim Lìmeng and others in Korea, first published in 1465. The original Korean edition had 365 volumes. The Japanese acquired incomplete copies of this book from Korea. Some scholars used these fragments as references to consult other books and supplement the content, resulting in the current edition, which has 266 volumes (with volumes 155, 156, 209, and 220 missing during the re-engraving process). The entire book is divided into 92 categories, collecting nearly 60,000 prescriptions. At the beginning of each category, it compiles medical theories from various books, followed by the compilation of treatment methods and prescriptions from different sources (including acupuncture, guided exercises, dietary therapy, etc.). The content is extensive, the literature is rich, covering internal medicine, surgery, gynecology, pediatrics, orthopedics, ophthalmology, and otolaryngology, as well as knowledge of health preservation. It also includes content related to Taoist scriptures, Buddhist texts, and biographical discussions on medicine. It extensively gathers medical theories and widely collects prescriptions, making it a comprehensive collection of medical experience before the Ming Dynasty. It preserves many medical texts lost before the Ming Dynasty in China, making it of high documentary and academic value.
