Features: Yao Xing Ge Kuai Si Wei (A Concise Rhyme of 400 Medicinal Properties) was written by the Ming Dynasty physician Gong Tingxian. This book serves as an introductory text for learning traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), presenting the properties, functions, and main indications of 400 commonly used herbs in four-character rhyming verse. The content is concise and easy to remember, with a pleasant rhythm that aids in recitation and memorization. However, due to the limitations of four-character rhyming verse, the language is somewhat simplistic, making it difficult to grasp deeper insights. To facilitate learning, the People's Medical Publishing House published Yao Xing Ge Kuai Si Wei Baihua Jie (A Colloquial Explanation of Yao Xing Ge Kuai Si Wei) in the 1960s. Since its publication, it has been widely acclaimed by readers and has undergone five revisions, remaining consistently in print. To better meet the needs of modern readers, the book has been revised for its sixth edition. This revision, led by Professor Gao Xuemin of Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, faithfully preserves the original rhymes while striving for more in-depth yet accessible annotations. Additionally, the content on medicinal properties, common compatibility methods, supplementary formulas, dosage, and advances in pharmacological research has been expanded. To ensure medication safety, toxicological research findings have also been included. This edition not only retains the original book's memorable and easy-to-recite features but also provides more comprehensive and systematic content, making it more convenient for readers to study and apply.
