Features: To better serve wheat production and accelerate the screening, approval, and promotion of excellent winter wheat varieties, the editors meticulously organized the 2005-2006 National Winter Wheat Variety Trial. This trial was set up in eight regional groups across the country's winter wheat zones: the Yangtze River Upper Course Winter Wheat Group, the Yangtze River Middle and Lower Course Winter Wheat Group, the Southern Yellow River-Huai River Winter Wheat Group, the Southern Yellow River-Huai River Spring Wheat Group, the Northern Yellow River-Huai River Waterlogged Group, the Northern Yellow River-Huai River Dry Land Group, the Northern Winter Wheat Waterlogged Group, and the Northern Winter Wheat Dry Land Group. A total of 352 trial sites were arranged in 18 provinces (regions/cities), with 305 varieties participating in the trial.
In accordance with the specific regulations and indicator requirements of the National Wheat Variety Trial, the annual regional trial determined 23 varieties for recommendation to the national approval, 24 outstanding varieties from the preliminary trial entered the regional trial, 30 varieties continued in the regional trial, 28 varieties entered the production trial, and 68 varieties were withdrawn from the regional trial. At the request of the extensive testing units and participating units, the editors compiled the results of the 2005-2006 National Winter Wheat Variety Trial into this book.
This book includes summaries of the trial in each group, reports on stress resistance identification, quality detection, and investigation reports, with a focus on a comprehensive evaluation of the tested varieties' yield potential, stability, growth characteristics, stress resistance, and quality. This book is the crystallization of the hard work and dedication of all the testing personnel.
