Features: This book is part of the series on international experiences, selected and compiled by the Resource Conservation and Environmental Protection Department of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and the Circular Economy Research Center of the Institute of Economic System and Management under the NDRC. The editors have structured the book around the basic approaches to building a resource-saving society, carefully selecting experiences and practices from advanced countries abroad in energy conservation, water conservation, material conservation, land conservation, as well as resource utilization and the development of circular economy. These experiences and practices, diverse due to different national conditions, are highly valuable for reference. At the same time, the book offers us valuable insights: while learning from international experiences, we must also combine the actual conditions of our own country and region, innovate after digesting and absorbing these practices, and strive to accelerate the construction of a resource-saving society in China. The articles selected for this book mainly come from three sources: first, investigative and research reports from the internal systems of the NDRC and relevant ministries; second, research articles written by experts and scholars; and third, on-the-ground accounts and observations written by media journalists and overseas personnel.
