Features: The publication of New Perspectives on Public Economics is first and foremost a debt of gratitude to Mr. Sun Hairong of Zhejiang University Press. His enthusiasm and support gave the author the determination to rewrite and publish this textbook on public economic issues. Secondly, during the writing of this book, the author's graduate student Li Mingjun also contributed to some of the content, specifically Sections 4 and 5 of Chapter 3, which added novelty and vitality to the textbook. In the author's view, public economics is still an immature discipline. On one hand, the textbook system and content are not yet mature enough. How to organize it and how much content to include are still subjects for further discussion. On the other hand, the author's own understanding and grasp of the textbook are also immature. This is more significant and serious! During the course, the author once tried to insert the fundamental principles and methods at the beginning of every relevant chapter. Perhaps this approach would flow more smoothly and make it easier for students to follow and become familiar with the material. However, the author later realized that as a published textbook, such an approach might be somewhat lacking, appearing less systematic and more like a series of thematic lectures. It is precisely because of this that the current system has been tried, but it still doesn't seem to flow smoothly when teaching. Perhaps it is because the original system has been used for too long, or perhaps there really is a problem, or maybe it is due to other reasons. This book provides a detailed discussion of the fundamentals of public economics, the research objects of public economics, the supply of public goods, public choice, public expenditure, and the public tax system.
