Publishing Date: 1999-10-01
Features: The compilation and publication of "The Complete Encyclopedia of Chinese Natural Supplements" are truly remarkable. Its release not only provides the general public with abundant resources for health and longevity but also represents another significant contribution by Zhang Yu and colleagues to society. When the manuscript was completed, it was requested that I write a preface, which was merely a few additional lines. This book is based on the theory of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) for nourishing the body, adhering to the principle of "nourishing when deficient and treating according to syndrome differentiation," and systematically introduces the mechanisms of action, pharmacological classification, clinical applications, and important considerations for using supplements. It elaborates on the research findings of certain supplements regarding their anti-aging, anti-cancer, and cognitive-enhancing effects. According to the theories of TCM for replenishing qi, blood, yin, and yang, it selects nearly two thousand famous formulas, herbs, and supplement preparations from traditional Chinese medical literature, as well as commonly used nourishing foods that have been scientifically processed and refined in recent years and have proven to be effective. All the herbs and supplements introduced in this book have been rigorously screened, scientifically validated, and proven to be effective through practice. Truly, it can be said to "compile the essence of supplements and display their divine power."
