Longji is named because the mountain range resembles the ridge of a dragon's back. To the left of the mountain range is the Sangjiang River, and to the right are the rice terraces carved out by the ancestors of the Zhuang and Yao peoples — the Longji Rice Terraces. The terraces belong to two ancient villages — Ping'an Village and Dazhai. The one beside Ping'an Village is called Longji Rice Terraces and belongs to the Zhuang people. The one in Dazhai is called Jinkeng Rice Terraces and belongs to the Hongyao (Red Yao). Walking on the terraces, what you feel is not only the strength of the hardworking people, but also their beauty and faith. If you have the chance, the rice terraces are definitely a place you must visit!
